Leather and Lace | Vintage Crib Bedding

Aside from being the Owner, Designer, and Seamstress of High Cotton Textile, I am also a musician. Classically-trained to play the piano at the early age of 4, I started playing more by ear in my early adulthood years. As a lover of all genres of music, from the Classical greats of Mozart, Chopin, Beethoven and Bach -- I am also a fan of many classic musical legends, Stevie Nicks being near the top of my list. 

I first got the inspiration for the design of my Vintage Leather and Lace 100% Washed Cotton Tea-Stained Crib Bedding Set after hearing Stevie Nicks and Don Henley's Leather and Lace one Summer afternoon. I had been tossing around different ideas for some new original designs for crib bedding sets, and the lyrics in "Leather and Lace" triggered the inspiration in my mind to create a unique, one-of-a-kind crib bedding set using leather and lace. 

Creation of our vintage leather and lace crib bedding set undergoes a lengthy process to achieve the final result that we desire. The process begins with a 100% washed cotton organic fabric being hand-dyed in a natural organic tea in our studio over several days, giving the fabric a true natural vintage look. No two pieces of fabric in this set are ever the same, even the fabric on pieces on the same set, which is part of the originality and beauty of this hand-dyed fabric. 

The bumpers are each detailed with a sweet vintage lace. 

100% genuine deer suede straps attach the bumpers to your crib railings. Deer suede is detailed with small dangly reclaimed natural glass beads from Bali.

The bumpers are made as 4 separates, including plump and pillow-style inserts. Bumpers are made each with zip closures. 

The ruffled crib skirt is 4-sided, sewn to a crib skirt decking fabric. The main body of the crib skirt is made with a soft washed 100% cotton fabric, hand-dyed in a natural tea stain.

The ruffled crib skirt has vintage crocheted lace and a wide tea-stained ruffle -- very full double layers around all 4 sides. Finished length of the layered crib skirt is approximately 20-22". Length of skirt may vary slightly in different areas depending on the lace and ruffles.

This crib bedding set is truly one-of-a-kind and every piece may look *slightly* different from photos shown. Due to handmade natural dying of the fabric and the vintage leather and lace pieces used for the ruffles and bumper straps, each piece will have its own unique personality. No two bedding pieces will be exactly the same when ordering this set. Every piece is made completely by hand, detailed with originality and personality.
